WHY KEVIN

As an advocate for public education and a school trustee for more than 20 years, I'm always encouraged to see education being given the priority and consideration it deserves. I am in full support of exploring new directions that present an opportunity to improve upon how we provide the best possible learning experiences for our children. Teachers need to feel they will be given support to develop more effective practice!

When an opportunity like Falcon's Master Teacher Incentive Program can improve upon our model or make advancements in the system, I feel we owe it to our children to explore it. How we move forward in that certainly requires further discussion, but I think it's critical to remain open to having those conversations.

Delta School Board Chair

I watched Kevin at work when he was minister for deregulation, transportation and health, and I know he’s got what it takes to keep our coalition together, reconnect us with British Columbians, and take on the NDP's next leader, whoever that might be. He also has one of the most impressive track records in government, and even more important, when he says he’ll do something, he does it. In my book, he delivers, and that kind of leadership is important to our party as we continue to build a better BC.

Hon. Rich Coleman
MLA for Fort Langley-Aldergrove
Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General and Minister Responsible for Housing

I’m looking forward to working with Kevin on issues of importance to British Columbians, including law and order, supporting families and seeing everyone benefit from a prosperous economy. There’s a lot of work to do in the challenging years ahead. Kevin Falcon is the right person at this time in our province’s
history to keep our free enterprise coalition working together for the good of all British Columbians. I know he’ll make a great leader of our BC Liberal Party, and a thoughtful and energetic Premier for British Columbia.

Marc Dalton
MLA for Maple Ridge - Mission

I have been impressed by Kevin's dedication toward listening and learning about Northern and resource issues, especially the perspective of our local communities. He consulted me closely on the creation of his 'Northern Prosperity Agenda' and accepted specific local input. That is the style of leadership we need in BC now.

— Pat Pimm
MLA for Peace River North

Kevin Falcon is the right candidate for the North and the right candidate to lead the BC Liberal Party now. He has a proven record of understanding the needs of Northern BC and investing in rural transportation and infrastructure. His feel for the North, its communities and people, will be invaluable to the region and to a Kevin Falcon-lead BC government.

— The Honourable Richard Neufeld
Senator for British Columbia

As an educator, community activist and Senator, I know what it takes to be successful in public service. Kevin knows how to bring a team together and that’s going to be really important as we build on our strengths and tackle the challenges facing BC. Kevin’s got the energy and enthusiasm to be a terrific leader of the party and Premier of the province.

— The Honourable Yonah Martin
Senator for British Columbia

Having watched Kevin skillfully manage two of the Province's most important ministries, I have the utmost confidence in his ability to lead not just the BC Liberal party, but the Province of BC in the exciting years ahead.

— Honourable Iain Black
MLA for Port Moody-Coquitlam and Minister of Labour

The expansion and redevelopment of Surrey Memorial Hospital and the new $239-million Surrey Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre are good examples of Kevin's and the Province's commitment to providing the best health care possible for the residents of Surrey. Kevin has the experience, the passion, the perspective and the vision to build on ten years of unprecedented progress in our province, and to leverage the energy, excitement and commitment of the next generation of leaders for BC.

— Honourable Stephanie Cadieux
MLA for Surrey-Panorama, and Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development

The new emergency room at NRGH is just one example of Kevin's and the Province's commitment to providing the best health care possible to people across the Central Island. Since he was elected in 2001, I watched Kevin skillfully manage some of the Province's most important ministries. One of the most impressive things to me about Kevin is how deeply he is committed to improving the quality of life for all British Columbians. From transportation funding which upgraded the BC Ferries fleet servicing Vancouver Island to health funding, which will provide us with state-of-the-art emergency care, examples of Kevin's commitment to the people on the Island are many. I think he will be an excellent leader of the BC Liberal Party and effective Premier of Province of BC.

— Ron Cantelon
MLA for Parksville-Qualicum and BC Liberal Caucus Chair

As Minister of Transportation, Kevin has played a key role in the Gateway Transportation Program and getting construction underway on the South Fraser Perimeter Road, the new 10-lane Port Mann Bridge and the widening of Highway 1 to eight lanes from Vancouver to Langley. Having served in the legislature with Kevin since 2001, I have the utmost confidence in his ability to lead the BC Liberal Party and the Province of BC in the years ahead.

— Dave S. Hayer
MLA for Surrey-Tynehead

As Minister of Transportation, Kevin played a key role in securing $1.4 billion in funding for the Evergreen Line and getting construction underway. The project represents a major commitment to the Tri-Cities area, not just by the Province, but by Kevin as well.

— Douglas Horne
MLA for Port Coquitlam

We have benefited from nine years of excellent Government in our Province. We are fortunate to have several outstanding Liberal MLA's contending to be the next Premier. While each one would serve us well, I consider that Kevin Falcon has best demonstrated the qualities that have characterized our great leaders of the past. That is a clear vision of the future, courage to establish policies that will bring long term benefits, and ability to inspire team effort.

— Patrick L. McGeer, MD, PhD
Kinsmen Laboratory of Neurological Research

I've been working closely with Kevin to obtain capital funding for the much needed Mental Health and Addictions Centre for Lions Gate Hospital, which the four North Shore MLAs have been supporting over the past months. Having served in the legislature with Kevin since 2005, I have the utmost confidence in his ability to make the necessary decisions to lead the BC Liberal Party and the Province of BC in the years ahead.

— Joan McIntyre
MLA for West Vancouver-Sea to Sky

As Minister of Health Services, Kevin helped ensure that every person living with HIV in the province, who is medically eligible, can access anti-retroviral drug treatment at no cost. He understands that the strength and effectiveness of BC's health care system depends on making collaborative evidence-based decisions that recognize the needs of all stakeholders. At the same time, Kevin has shown a real understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing BC's health care system, as well as genuine compassion for people living with HIV/AIDS.

— Dr. Julio Montaner
B.C. Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS

I have had the privilege and honour to know Kevin Falcon as a leader and as a friend. Kevin has the vision and energy to lead the Province of British Columbia. It is without hesitation that I endorse Kevin Falcon.

— Honourable Gerry St. Germain, P.C.
